Scope of fitout
Refurbishment of an existing area while in occupation. The fitout included specialist areas for arts and crafts, sensory rooms and a kitchen training facility.
Works included
- Design and build the fitout to AS1428.1 2009 design for access and mobility
- Installation of high visibility anti slip stair nosing
- Wide door ways, passing spaces and exclusion of dead end spaces
- Specialist sensory room lighting system
- Vinyl floors with turned up wall finish
- Design and installation of an accessible kitchen training area including: side opening oven doors, draw dishwashers, multi height stainless steel benches and compliant sinks and tapware.

Challenges and solutions
Take responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of the participants that Ability Options supports during the construction process. The fitout needed to comply to AS1428.1 2009.
We are fully qualified industry leading experts in AS1428.1 2009 compliance. We prevented unauthorised access to construction areas by building secure temporary walls with access doors. All live area work was conducted out of hours.
