There are many forms of lighting that can be installed in an office fitout, frankly far too many to list on this web site.

So what is the ideal level of lighting or “lux” in the office?   On average it is 300 lux but the real answer is that there is no answer.  Everybody has a different idea of what they consider to be perfect, and it has a lot to do with what functions are being carried out in your office.

Lighting installations in different rooms should be either exactly the same or with gradually changes.  Rooms with too much light leads to eyestrain, especially when going from dark to light areas.  It takes approx 40min to adapt to dark areas and approx 10min to adapt to light areas.

Lighting design will always be a compromise, you will never be able to satisfy everyone but individual task lighting at specific workstations or desks can come a long way to satisfying their needs.
